PA DEPCourse ID:  1913 -This course is a shorter version of the 6 hour ASSE Backflow 101 designed for half day training sessions.

 
Description:  The course is designed for water treatment plant operators and administrators. Chapter 1 covers basic backflow hydraulics, Chapter 2 covers the different types of cross-connections, and the degree of hazard. Chapter 3 describes in detail how to apply protection and to prevent backflow using airgaps and backflow prevention devices. Chapter 3 will also explain how the devices work and will cover proper installation guidelines. Chapter 4 will cover the elements of a comprehensive cross-connection control program, gauge care, repair and maintenance considerations, etc. There will be numerous opportunites in the course to see and actually examine all types of backflow prevention and related plumbing equipment including numerous cut-aways of nearly every brand and type of backflow prevention device on today's market.
