Description: The course is designed for water treatment plant operators, waste water plant operators, plumbers, and maintenance personnel. The purpose is to give participants, who are already certified backflow prevention assembly testers, detailed instuction on diagnosing problems with backflow prevention devices using a differential pressure gauge and then disassembling and making necessary repairs. This course is designed to bring together everything that may have been learned in other classes. This course has been approved by ASSE (The American Society of Sanitary Engineers) and therefore meets ANSI Standard Series 5000).

Course Level: Intermediate through Advanced

Course Content:- * Introduction- Necessary Qualifications * General Repair and Maintenance Information * Safety, Tools, Cleaning, Lubricants, Parts * Review of the operation and application of the RP. * View and discuss RP repair videos * Review and practice testing the RP in the Wet Lab * RP Diagnostics Workshop (Refer to ASSE Series 5000 Manual) * RP Repair and Maintenance Workshop * RP Repair and Maintenance Hands-On Practice Session * Review of the operation and application of the DCVA * View and discuss the DCVA repair videos * Review and Practice testing the DCVA in the wet lab * DCVA Diagnostics Workshop (Refer to ASSE Series 5000 manual) * DCVA Repair and Maintenance Workshop * DCVA Repair and Maintenance Hands-On Practice Session * Comprehensive Diagnostics and Repair and Maintenance Workshop and Practice Session * Diagnostics and Repair Questions and Answers Session * Diagnostics and Repair and Maintenance Practice Session * Overall Course Review. * Written Exam * Practical Exam
